Boat Wheels I Have A Boat Trailer With Chrome Wheels That Have What I Think Is Aluminum Coating Over Top Of The Chrome.?

I have a boat trailer with chrome wheels that have what i think is aluminum coating over top of the chrome.? - boat wheels

I would like to remove chrome aluminum wheels for brightness. What can I use to remove the aluminum?

Sounds like a wheel made of galvanized steel. Dipping to prevent rust and corrosion. If you do not oxidize the coating and sealing the metal and corrode quickly.

Unless someone has painted what was originally chrome rims, you will not "wrap" Ove "food", at least not more aluminum chrome. It will not work.

Chrome is to show (quality) is a multistage process. The base is first polished to a bright shine, then the copper plate, nickel and then chrome plated, then polished. Some have even Polish between the coating steps.

I would bet that the wheels have a layer of dust on the semi polished aluminum, chrome-aluminum, not more. What is there now, if it is to be carried out by the plant to the final layer. What lies beneath the surface is not with the elements.
